Dragon Soul

My favourite TV series is Dragon Ball Z Kai, it's a remaster of the original Dragon Ball Z series that started airing in 2009 with better image quality and a faster storyline.

The show is about a group of martial artists with super powers that fight against aliens and androids that want to kill all humanity.

The martial artist Goku and his son Gohan are the main characters, they are joined by many other fighters that include many rivals and former enemies.
 
The series is set in a fantasy planet based on Earth called Dragon World, this planet has futuristic technology while at the same time it has many prehistoric animals living in the wild like dinosaurs.

I found out this series in Internet when it was announced they were going to air a remaster of the Dragon Ball Z series.

I like it because it solves many of the pacing problems that the original series had by cutting out all of the unnecessary scenes that were only made to give time to the creator of the comic book version to advance the storyline.

Off the rails

I'm going to talk about a internet forum dedicated to construction.

It's the forum SkyscraperCity, while you may have guessed from the name of the forum its mainly dedicated to talk about skyscrapers, it also talks about infrastructure and transport.

The main reason why I visit the forum it's the Chilean Transport Sub Forum.
Transport is interesting to me and in the forum they post news about new developments of transport by the Ministry of Transport constantly.

Usually this government has a terrible communication with the people about what developments they are working on, so a place where I can read everything that may have not been reported in mass media is really useful.

I usually visit the forum each week to read about news of the public transport of Santiago like the new project for the Line 7 of  the Santiago Metro.

Across the border

Where i want to go is the region of Cuyo in Argentina. It's the closest to Santiago and its similar to Central Chile in many ways.

I want to travel to another country and know first hand the cultural differences between Chile and Argentina. Outside of the two main cities in the region its mostly rural and it has many natural parks.

I want to go with my family

Hopefully we will go in the next summer vacations, if not sometime in the future.

Visit the cities of Mendoza and San Juan. Drink cuyan wine while eating barbeque. Go to the foot of the Aconcagua Mountain and visit many different places by car.

To convince my mother first, she wants to go to Brazil in bus instead and I prefer to visit Argentina first and for tourism i prefer to travel by car or if i the place it's too far away i would like to go by plane and know how it feels.

TechTravel

My favourite electronic piece is my Android cellphone. I got it last year after I asked my parents to buy me a new mp3 player after my sister destroyed mine and they got me a new cellphone instead!.

I use it to listen to music, to read internet pages, to watch videos in YouTube and to play videogames

I use my cellphone everyday, during working week I use it to entertain me during my trip from home to university and during the weekend to watch videos while I'm in my bed relaxing.

I like it because of its portability and that it has many different functions

The biggest problem that it has us that the battery drains really fast so if I forget to take the charging cable to university I have to live without being able to use it and traveling in the subway gets really boring without being able to listen to music or being able to navigate in the internet

A Familiar concert

For a memorable concert I don't really have too many options from where to choose since I don't like how they cost so much in Chile and because of that I don't go to them.

Of the few concerts where I have gone my favourite one was in a school where they played the musical Jesus Christ Superstar and in the musical one of my cousins played the role of Poncio Pilatos

It was back in 2003 in a school from the Ciudad Satelite neighbourhood in Maipú

Our family helped my cousin to be ready for the musical, my mother helped to make his costume and I helped him by reading the script and acting as one of the characters for his practice.

At the end the concert was a success and the people in the audience really liked how he sang and acted and considered him the best singer in the musical.

Favourite music band

There are many different bands that I like since I like many different types of music. Metal, electronic, rock, classical and more.

Of them my favourite band is Rhapsody of Fire, they were a band from Italy that played metal music and broke in two in 2011.

I like them because they combine metal music with many other styles and instruments that are not used usually to make metal music like violins, my favourite songs are the songs from their older work and are in the compilation album Tales from the Emerald Sword Saga and of these the song that gave the name to that album: Emerald Sword its my favourite, I like how upbeat it is and how it mixes so well with it's classical music influences.

About myself

Hello, i am Fernando Catalán Miranda. I was born on 16th October 1991, I have lived all my life in Maipú near the limits of Greater Santiago. I'm used to long daily travels.

I went to the Santa María school in Maipú for primary school and then I studied in the Instituto Nacional high-school. I studied architecture for a year in the Universidad de Chile but I didn't like it. Now i'm studying public administration.

My immediate family is my father Pedro, my mother Lina and my little sister Macarena.

My hobbies are playing videogames and watching sports, I follow the Club Universidad de Chile in the chilean league.

This summer I went to Greater Concepción and nearby cities during vacations. My favorite activity was going to Lota and entering the charcoal mine Chiflón del Diablo.
